that builds local low income housing, to kick off the initial construction of
The Little Shepherd Amphitheatre in Jenkins.
groups from HOMES donated labor, money and material for the project.
The groups consisted of students from Purdue University’s St.
Aquinas Center and Kutztown University.
The groups hale from West Lafayette, Indiana and Kutztown,
These students put rough cut hemlock siding on the
new amphitheater office, installed windows and doors, and landscaped
around the outside of the office building.
The rough-cut hemlock siding was milled locally and will resemble
housing that was in this area during the Civil War Era.
Mayor Dixon of Jenkins donated a backhoe and one of
his best operators, Scotty for one afternoon to complete the landscaping
task. Students were supervised in
construction and told stories of our local history.
